When it's Easter Monday and the weekly theme (355) for the Macro Mondays group is "Baked goods. Make a macro of a baked good, it can be bread rolls, pretzels, croissants etc", then images of Hot Cross Buns seem inevitable. Luckily I still had one remaining, a chocolate variety. Happy Macro Monday and have a good week, everyone.

Visitors coming by, now it's allowed (with limitations), so I had to show off by making some scones. They may look a little untidy, but they went down well. :-)

If the morning markets in Luang Prabang are largely about fresh food, the evening street markets are about fabrics and clothing (PiP 1) and "ready to go" food (PiPs 2-4). Stand aside Maccas and Colonel, there's more variety here!

Forget supermarkets, in Luang Prabang the street markets are held every morning and are where you will find almost anything you'd care to eat (and a bit more besides, see some of the PiPs!). Markets such as these are common and, I suspect, are similar to the recently much-discussed "Wet market" in Wuhan, China.

This thread has touched on food a few times. This restaurant in Xian (see also previous image) specialised in dumplings. Not just plain ones, but different types and all delicious and beautifully presented. Looking here back to the preparation area.

The morning street markets in Luang Prabang are open daily and all about fresh food. You can buy exciting fresh nibbles such as these crickets (see also PiP) - (just fry with a little chilli and other spices). If you wish, while they cook, you could sing along with this. Explored.

There I met Ingrid who also was a volunteer worker for the day and who has lived in the nearby Tinderry Mountains for the past twelve months. Needless to say, between customers, I told Ingrid about my involvement in the “100 Strangers” project and, as she still was listening to the end, I proceeded to seek her involvement. Equally needless to say, she agreed and (between customers) I was able to grab the photos you see here. I was glad we did this fairly early in the day, as the stall became very busy later and it would have been much more difficult. I'm also pleased to say the many satisfied customers helped to raise much-needed funds for the local Community Association. I would suggest viewing on black (press Z).
