Sunrise Squardron Silhouettes

05 Nov 2009 2 548
...really is more important than the final destination. Up at 6am this morning. Pitch dark still outside, with the wind howling & the rain dripping down my bedroom window. I knew I'd have my camera with me on the off chance it would clear & I might catch a glimpse of the sunrise later. I was driving by my favourite field in County Wexford at just the right time about an hour after I left home. It turned out to be one Journey I am very glad I made. I'm also really glad I had the camera in the boot of my car. A quick photographic pitstop - then on again towards Waterford. It was lashing rain five minutes on down the road. That's Ireland in November. Ye pays yer money & yiz takes yer chance... :) I have this in RAW too so when I get round to processing this properly & not very crudely in Picasa as you can see here it'll look a lot nicer, without that lensflare at the bottom etc etc...

East Pier Sunrise

22 Oct 2009 5 1 641
I was on my way to work this morning. I saw the somber sea (sun) & sky & had to stop. About a minute before I managed to find somewhere to park away from the rush hour traffic on the coast road a beautiful demi sun was peeping beneath that cloud cover above the horizon, just to the left of the pier's end. By the time I got into a good enough position to shoot it was gone. Still, I got a shot, of sorts... Taken on Sandymount Strand looking back South towards Dun Laoghaire Harbour's East Pier. Unprocessed jpeg.

Orbiting a Star

Two gulls in orbit around a star high in the sky above my garden this afternoon. A beautiful visual birthday treat... This is an unprocessed jpeg. Polarizing lens used.
