At one time there were several, maybe nibbled on by foraging deer until gone for good. Here's hoping this one continues to thrive.

Birthday flowers set out in the bright October sunshine.

A delicate little flower, lovely to see appearing again when we thought it gone for good.

Not sure of the name of these flowers. To me, they look a little like ironweed. There's a sunflower lurking behind them, and still farther behind, one of Sue's paintings.

A nice pause while walking the dog this afternoon. The pause was for his sake, but as I waited, this iris's presence made itself felt.

It has become almost a daily ritual, circling the vase of flowers when there's good light, looking from one point of view then another, one camera, another, a variation of lenses, of apertures. Too many pictures, no doubt, certainly more than can be shared without being indulgent. A pleasure nonetheless.

Small, delicate, but doing pretty well so far.
