This is the second brood on this nest this year. It is located under my deck on the intake/output pipe of my instant hot water heater. They fledged the next day. The first brood had 5 babies. Etowah County, Alabama (IMG_0901)

On a downspout right beside my garage door. After skipping last year for a different downspout, the phoebes have returned to this location where they successfully raised two families each season of the two years previous to last year. The garage doors are quite noisy and Otis and I are frequently walking right under this nest, yet the phoebes persist. They often do not even leave the nest when we are about, athough they do keep a wary eye on us. Etowah County, Alabama (IMG_2977H)

These babies are from a clutch of five that are the phoebes' second clutch of the year. The nest is on the turn of a downspout right next to my garage door. The phoebes seem unperturbed by the frequent noise and traffic passing underneath every day because they used the same nest last year. Five babies from the first clutch fledged in late May so the phoebes have been busy birds. Etowah County, Alabama (IMG_0620)

The phoebes had two clutches in 2012, I did not photo the 2nd clutch

This phoebe is incubating the pairs' second clutch of the year. The nest is on the turn of a downspout right next to my garage door. The phoebes seem unperturbed by the frequent noise and traffic passing underneath every day because they used the same nest last year. I saw five fledglings in the first clutch so the pair have been busy birds. Etowah County, Alabama (IMG_8144)
