On this trip to Brighton we first came across Seaford, where we now live. There were few photos taken here on that occasion, as we had first headed east to Seaford and then back to Rottingdean, where we got a no.2 bus around the north of Brighton and then along to Shoreham, by which time we were somewhat weary.

Shoreham War Memorial inscriptions - 27.6.2011

Although the 1939 - 1945 is very prominent, I think it was a later addition, as the top line of the inscription reads 'In thankfulness to God for victory in the Great War'. The lettering style is a little quirky with some of the letters smaller than others and the 'legs' cross over their neighbours.
