WINDOW OF DAFFS There are thousands of varieties of Daffodils in the State of North Carolina USA - these 2 yellows have multi-petals and begin to bloom after the 'regular' Trumpet Daffs have started - if you look very carefully, you can count the layers of petals - the one top Left is quite different than any others in the yard - it has been named "Alien Daff" since it begins with a solid green bud that looks Alien © All rights reserved -- EXPLORE --

Then -

- taken when sunshine filtered through Dogwood leaves on a warm day - today, I'd have to slog through the rain to possibly get a shot - but with rain and winds gusting - not going to even try - if any shots are taken - they will be through my trusty windows - Hurricane Michael has become a Tropical Storm - looking out my window, the rains are here - we are supposed to get in one day - what we usually get in the entire month of October - the hatches are battened down - nothing that can get caught in a gust has been left out - just hoping some of our neighbors have also - would hate to have stuff thrown at our home - but, one does what one can - the rest is wait - at least this one isn't crawling like Florence did - we moved home to North Carolina from Florida - but the Hurricanes got our forwarding address _____________________________________________________________ Update on Tropical Storm Michael - he is gone ! Had wind gusts of 50mph - few branches down but we are fine. The worst part for us - no power = no way to fix coffee! Power restored (we were of the 25,000 who lost power) - fridge /freezer clean out and re-stock.. It is very interesting the things one can discover to do when you have flashlights and candles.. Kudos to our Power Company for getting 25,000 customers back... in 24 or less hours

Pamy Flowers -

21 Jun 2018 14 11 382
Joy ! Yellow Gold ! Thank you, OK ! Skipper butterfly has discovered the False Sunflowers (Heliopsis helianthoides) under the Dogwood trees - She flitted back and forth from one to another - Checking - Is this one as good as the last one - Got to go back and check - One thing I've learned (from the exhausting days of butterfly chasing) - They return to where you saw them - So, stay put - You scattered the seeds - They have started to come - Just have camera ready to shoot ! Oklahoma refers to Pam J who lives in a very remote part of that State - she gifted me with the first seeds - Since they self-seed - All one really needs to do is enjoy (unless you want to send seeds to another Soul to enjoy) Seeds have gone to Diane and also to my niece - about 15 min. away --- No photos.... yet © All rights reserved * 1 PiP in each left corner * -- EXPLORE --

Colors of Zinnias ..

03 Jun 2017 16 26 414
On the Left side is Day 1 - On the Right side is Day 2 - For both Zinnias - Seeds were a gift last year which (since I am such a careful gardener) - I scattered wherever they wanted to go - Wishing them safe travels and don't become somebody's supper - Since I know so much (right) about gardening - I saved seeds from the Zinnias as they were done - Guess how surprised I was when they began sprouting this year - (and i still had the Zinnia seed stash !) (y'all really don't have to continue laughing) Knew the False Sunflowers and Cosmos were self-seeders - A person just can't know everything - Why do you think I tell them.- "Bloom where you are planted (or planted yourself)" ? Am not a baby-sitter of any plants - That sage advice was given to me many moons ago when we bought our first home in Florida - My neighbor had a wonderful yard, so I went over to get some tips from him - "Either they grow - Or they do not -" That advice has remained with me through many plant adventures - So, Dear Soul, who gifted me with more Zinnia seeds - They have a good home - Down the Road at Not My Garden - (can see her sighing right now) But, all is good - Trust me - © All Rights Reserved
