Up in those branches ..
Letter 'U' for the Alphabet Site ..
had a great conversation with this old pine...
just seemed so appropriate for this old, gentle, stately Pine..
I came back the next day & we continued our conversation..
the he-tree, Mr Pine, wanted to know about what was going on across the street...
I said not a word, but put my hands on him...
ah, said Mr Pine, now I know !
it is good ! Put you hand on my bark again & I'll share some energy to take back to the class...
and he did...

is where we had the frame drum workshop with Layne Redmond ..
wood floors gave it an 'old Florida' feel ..
along with all the energies from drumming ..
it was good ..
certainly a memory-keeper!

There is a difference...

between 'wanting' and 'having' ..
these guys 'wanted' to go surfing early in the morning to catch a great wave ..
think they would have been up so early if they 'had' to do it ?
we usually do that which we 'want', before thinking about 'have'..
unlesss, of course, it involves a a paycheck..
only a few I know earn a living from that which they really 'want' to do !

Decorated !!!

This historical house in Melbourne, Florida has been decorated for Halloween..
"Title: JAMES WADSWORTH ROSSETTER HOUSE
Location:
County: Brevard
City: Melbourne
Description: Descended from 17th Century New England pioneers, James Rossetter (1863-1921) was born in Hamilton County, Florida. Rossetter arrived in Eau Gallie in 1902 and became a leader in the local fishing industry, harvesting the many local waterways as a charter partner of the Indian River & Lake Worth Fish Company. Later, he would form his own wholesale fishing enterprise and would go on to develop a fish pond at the Bight of Canaveral, precursor of Port Canaveral. The James W. Rossetter House began as a small existing structure on this property, which Rossetter bought in 1904. To expand his newly purchased home, Rossetter bought the winter home of John Aspinwall, a wealthy New York industrialist, and moved it to its present location. The Aspinwall structure, built in 1890 and now the west wing of the house, was connected to the existing building with open-air breezeways. Many of the designs used in the construction of boats were employed in the building of the house, as evidenced by the whimsical wood patterns inside the home. The scale of the home in relation to the surrounding residential area reflects the early success of Rossetter's industrial endeavors.

- can't begin to describe the beauty felt here
- am sitting on the grass watching the waves
- as they lap against rocks on the shore
- in Melbourne, Florida USA
- just before meeting up with fellow drummers
- for a class given by the late Layne Redmond
- Layne was a Soul of wonder, talent and so much more
- one of those you never forget
- an honor to meet and learn techniques of a frame drum
- when I found this quote, it fit Layne
- she was a beautiful soul
- who came briefly into my life, but left many things for me
- those who knew her would understand
" Beauty is not caused. It is.

Well, humans... !
28 Oct 2009 |
|
guess I'll have to fly over there for peace...
it was nice & quiet..
still as could be until the human arrived..
moving all around with that box...
it's my park...
will have to put up a sign to keep the humans out..
----
now, my POV Point Of View... this waterbird was on the left, doing whatever they do while I sat & had a snack..
then, walked over toward the water (intercoastal waterway) to take some photos..
he seemed patient for a while...
but then shot me a look & took off !
he landed way over on the right side...
far away !
