Georgian houses, once occupied by Huguenot silk weavers.

Paraphernalia, 8 King Street, Margate. The wooden crate has "Borough Market" and "Fresh Produce" stenciled on it. I'd love to have it!

This Georgian house is not a listed building, but it's old and wonderful. It's allowed to stay in this state of disrepair and is often used as a filming location.

Built in the mid 18th century. Nos 68-70: 3 storeys, 5 bays with 4 right bays advanced, left bay having archway through to rear at ground level. Advanced section (with rounded bay at left) has 2 doors and 2 windows with remains of shop fronts at ground floor. One window blank on 1st and 2nd floors. Assorted revealed sash windows with glazing bars and stucco sills.

Originally a Huguenot neighborhood, then Jewish, now South Asian. The shuttered windows are typical of the houses of Huguenot silk weavers' who settled here in the early 18th century.
