Lovely afternoon out in the sun with Alby today at Blashford Lakes. Loads of birds about including a buzzard, cormorants galore, lapwing, pintails etc., oh, and a passing Kingfisher. Unfortunately virtually nothing close enough for me to photograph except for this Great Crested Grebe - and even this is a large crop!!

This young deer literally jumped out of the woods in front of us whilst we were walking back to the car at Blashford Lakes. I managed to get a couple of shots off before it disappeared round the corner and out of sight. Not sure who was more startled - us or it!!

Even a large Greylag Goose doesn't mess with a black headed gull on the warpath.

Jackie and I had an afternoon at Blashford Lakes. I was mostly using my 300mm f4 with a 1.4 converter, even so most birds were way to far away for me. This is a large crop.
