Not a great photograph, but I don't get a lot of opportunities with these guys. Hoping....

I called my 366 Snaps folder for a year ago "Sparrows and Squirrel," which pretty much describes the situation. Here are four of the birds; the squirrel's below. ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . Number of project photos taken: 160 Title of " roll :" Sparrows and Squirrel Other photos taken on 11/28/2012: none.

Breakfast!

Last May 21 was my day to photograph sparrows. These guys were at the pedestal feeder, while the birds in the 366 Snaps photo were setting up housekeeping in one of the bird houses. (Or something. I'm not sure they ever moved in.) ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . Number of project photos taken: 63 Title of " roll :" Birds Other photos taken on 5/21/2012: The Daily Flower Census--42 photos--was pretty uninteresting. I think the yard work was interfering with the photography. As it will be today.

Two House Sparrows

As you can see, this camera/lens combination didn't force me to relearn a lot of habits. At least not in May of 2012. A couple sparrows on a little tree near our front-yard feeders. I'd get more creative later in the month, but this photo shows the strengths of the 300 mm lens--sharp focus and excellent definition. There's a reason this setup is my favorite. ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . Number of project photos taken: 49 Title of " roll :" Birds Other photos taken on 5/2/2012: I shot a handful of bird shots with the V1, then dug it out for the sunset.
