We found two of these rare Scottish primroses on Farraid Head. They are tiny, the flower being only 8mm in diameter, and are only found in the far Northwest of Scotland.

After the rain, the wind kept rising to gail force and beyond but the sun was out which created a sand storm to rival the best of deserts.

As we drove north from Tarbet towards Durness we were met by this sight of the late sun spot lighting the white slopes of Foinne Bhein and creating this rainbow.
As the rainbow receded, the slopes became dazzling as the sun floodlit the white upper slopes.

This was followed by rounded lump of Cranstackie being turned to pink.

Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning.
And that turned out right on the button. The rain soon arrived and by the end of the day it was blowing F-8 gusting 9. Although the rain eventually abated, the wind continued at storm force for two days and that made for a great experience at Balnakeil and Faraid Head the next day.
