Sesimbra, Nautilus. Nautilus (in vernacular Portuguese, nautilus) is a genus of marine nektonic cephalopod molluscs from the Indo-Pacific, classified by Carolus Linnaeus, in 1758, in his Systema Naturae, when describing its best-known species: Nautilus pompilius. They belong to the family Nautilidae and order Nautilida, characterized by having a large calcareous external shell with a convoluted spiral (brevicone type), divided into chambershragmocone) which are pierced by a siphon and used as a protection and flotation device. Their buoyancy is controlled by the animal by pumping liquid or gas in and out of these chambers, through osmosis;providing them with vertical movements, while their horizontal movements are provided by water jets , expelled through funnel tubes, visible between the two lowest tentacles, propelling them forward or backward.

Trawling is a method of fishing that involves pulling a fishing net through the water behind one or more boats. The net used for trawling is called a trawl net. The method requires bag nets to be towed through the water to catch different species of fish or sometimes a target species. The boats used for trawling are called trawlers or trawlers. Trawlers range in size from small open boats with engines up to 30 hp (22kW) to large factory boats with over 10,000hp (7.5 MW).

Happy day to all my dear Friends and to all Visitors. Today the sun is king. The Castelo de Sesimbra (Sesimbra Castle), also known as Castelo dos Mouros (Castle of the Moors), is a castle located in the town of Sesimbra. It was built on a site occupied in prehistoric times. In the 9th century it was a Muslim settlement during the period of Muslim occupation of Iberia, when it was known as Alcáçova. In 1165 it was conquered by D. Afonso Henriques.

Nossa Senhora do Cabo. The Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Cabo Espichel, also known as Nossa Senhora da Pedra Mua, is one of the most impressive places in this region due to its location and its remarkable natural architectural complex. The cult dates back to 1410, the year in which the venerated image of Nossa Senhora do Cabo was discovered at the end of Cabo Espichel, by two old men from Caparica and Alcabideche, who in coincident dreams had been warned by Heaven. Until the beginning of the 18th century, the square around the primitive temple was surrounded by houses for the pilgrims who came there on pilgrimage to venerate her image.
