I had a batch of strawberry wine fermenting and last night it was finally ready to bottle and finish. It produced 25 uniformly equal bottles of red, red wine.

Just Dandy

Today was the day that the batch of dandelion wine I started back on April 12th, 2022 was ready to bottle. This was a shot just after I had transferred it to the bottles, but before I corked them. It hadn't had time to settle yet, but as you can see, there was nothing to settle - it's totally clear. I strained it many times to make sure there were no impurities in it - and it paid off. I got 24 full bottles. Now, it just has to age for 4 or 5 years before it can be opened and tasted. I think this is my best batch yet! Taken on May 16th, 2022, with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77V DSLR.

This is the second batch of blackberry wine I made. I use it in my cooking.

Dandelion Flowers

13 Apr 2022 61
This is two and a half gallons of dandelion flowers. They're pictured here while I was boiling the water to seep them for two days. I picked them today to start another batch of dandelion wine. It's enough flowers to make a 5-gallon batch, which usually translates to about 25 750ml bottles of wine. Taken on April 12th, 2022 with my Sony Alpha SLT-a77V DSLR.

Wine Fridge

This is the refrigerator where I store my homemade wine. I keep it at 55 degrees. This was shot with my little Hello Kitty 35mm APS camera, a Jazz 206 clone, and using the tiny flash on the camera to light the subject with. It shows a lot of curvy distortion because it's a cheap camera. I used some cut down Fuji Neopan Acros 100 film in it and then developed the resulting image in a new film developing recipe I created using my homemade blackberry wine. I first concocted it tonight and got super results the first time out. This is the recipe: 450 ml. Blackberry Wine (my own homemade vintage) 45 g. Washing Soda 2 g. Vitamin C Powder 1 g. Potassium Bromide 1/2 tsp. of salt The bottom layer of the middle shelf is some more of the same blackberry wine I developed this shot with. Seeping The Dandelion Flowers

05 Apr 2019 1 347
I started a fresh batch of dandelion wine today, first by picking the flowers and then pouring boiling water over them to seep for two days. The recipe I use is from the Middle Ages and is known as "Midday Dandelion Wine," because you were supposed to pick the flowers at midday when they were fully open. The amount of dandelion flowers needed is two quarts for a batch. I ended up picking enough flowers, 5 quarts, to do 2 and a half batches; which should make enough for about 13 regular-sized bottles of wine. I always love projects like these with a history to them! I would have probably made a good peasant.

Wine

Here's what my latest batch of homemade wine looked like - I bottled it on July 26th, 2018, just over a month ago. It came out totally clear and had a nice shade to it. It was a simple recipe that called for grape juice to start out with, instead of crushing fresh grapes. When it was finished, I got 15 bottles of wine out of this batch.

Dandelion Wine

I racked my first batch of dandelion wine a few nights ago and here it sits, all in a row. All it has to do now is finish fermenting, then clear, and then it will be ready to cork and put away for a year so it can age. Or whatever they call it for wine.

Dandelion Wine Label

I've got two slightly different batches of dandelion wine fermenting right now, so I worked up a label to use when it comes time for bottling it. The name I chose for the winery refers to an underground stream or river that runs under my town.
