One of the planes on exhibit in the National Museum of the United States Air Force, located at the Wright-Patterson Air Force base near Dayton, Ohio. This is a B-24 Liberator bomber. The three people posing in front of it were classmates of mine when we visited here on a senior class trip back in 1979.

The Wreck Of Skaaldaire Flight 419

In the bitter cold early morning hours of March 12th, 1972, Skaaldaire Flight 419 suffered an engine failure and went down in the snow-covered peaks of the Pyrenees near France. The wreck wasn't located until 6 days later, on March 18th. When rescuers arrived on the scene, all they found was a pile of bones and one overweight woman who's first words were, "Thank goodness you found me in time." {burp}

Art Class, 1977

I was going through my old yearbooks and came across a picture from my 1977 art class, when I was a sophomore. I had forgotten all about making this bi-plane out of toothpicks and old model car tires. As I remember, it was about 10 inches long and was covered with paper so that it could be painted. The tires were part of the slicks that came with a model of a rail dragster, I can remember that quite well.

Last night a plane kept flying low over my house. It turned out that it was crop dusting the field behind my neighbor's house.
