Stevie Ray and Emmylou

25 Feb 2018 1 177
Stevie Ray is in the back, Emmylou in front—brother & sister (littermates) purebred oriental longhairs. They are only seven months old, but they are HUGE: 9 pounds and 8 pounds. Stevie Ray is a bicolor kitty, a combo of black-and-grey tabby, spots & stripes, with white. Emmylou is a chocolate "ticked" tabby: "ticking" refers to the black guard hairs on her back and sides. Stevie Ray is named for Stevie Ray Vaughan, the late great Texas blues guitarist. Emmylou (yes, that's the correct spelling) is named for Emmylou Harris, the multitalented vocalist who's still with us.

Fast asleep in the classic yin-yang posture, except that Stevie Ray (black & white) has completely buried his head under Emmylou's belly fur. He looks like a headless kitty! =laugh=

Right after I took the previous photo, Stevie Ray stretched out his head and front legs--upside down! Note the cute solid black spot on his right front leg: he has a couple more of those. It's obvious, isn't it, that they love each other very much...

bite that tail!

My 7-month-old oriental shorthairs are getting more & more mischievous. They're the reason why the shelf in front of the window is a randomized tangle of whatever. As for Oscar biting Nénu's tail, it happens so often she doesn't pay attention anymore. =laugh=

gotta laugh out loud

Today the oriental shorhair kittens had a big ol' tussle on my tie-dye skirt. I took a bunch of shots: this one is the funniest. That's pure joy you're lookin' at. =grin=

cut-paper collage 8 1/2 x 11' I can't help it: some of my collages are very personal. This one sums up my late spring and summer of 2014. It was all worthwhile, though. It was for our new kittens , who are wonderful. =smile=
