The Saturday Self Challenge: Take a picture of a permanent architectural detail INSIDE your home (apartment or house). Can be some sort of unusual window, door, beam, pipe, stucco - NOT allowed: nonpermanent design or furnishing that you added to your home. I live in an old Victorian house. This is part of the newel post of the staircase. It is one of my favorite details of the house. TSSCIMG 5089

It takes great concentration to make great music. These percussionists are attentive to the music as they wait to make their entrance. The MetWinds invited students to sit in with us. Since the stage only held 65 musicians, I sat out of one of the student pieces and photographed some of the students and our musicians from the wings. The lighting was very difficult with warm light reflected from the front and harsh blue light shining down on the percussionists.
