Originally uploaded for the Guesswhere UK group This shows the axial region of the Caburn Syncline exposed in a former Chalk quarry at the Cliffe Industrial Estate near Lewes in East Sussex. The Caburn Syncline is an E-W trending fold in the north-eastern part of the South Downs in Sussex. It can be seen in this computer model here: Lewes structure
