Working for the Geological Survey, Peach and Horne elucidated the complex thrust structures of the Scottish North West Highlands. Their field-work and mapping was of the very highest quality and their legacy stands for all time.

Their field-work and mapping was of the very highest quality and their legacy stands for all time. The inscription reads: To Ben N. Peach and John Horne who played the foremost part in unravelling the geological structure of the North-West Highlands 1883 – 1897. An International Tribute Erected 1930. Fine words for two fine geologists of the highest calibre.
