The fund for the building of this Department of Physical Medicine was inaugurated by Sir Harry Mallaby Mallaby-Deeley Bt who most generously contributed the munificent sum of £15,750 (That's worth about £700,000 today)

The London Hospital Aid Society

28 Jan 2012 203
The completion of the building of this Department of Physical Medicine was rendered possible by the assistance of The London Hospital Aid Society the members of which most generously contributed £6,000 Chairmen of the Society Philip Halperin Esq 1935 H Garland Wells Esq 1936 (That £6000 would be worth about £260,000 today. So with Sir Harry's munificent £15,750, that makes about a million quid for the building of the Outpatient Annexe in today's money. Or for a PFI project, £3.7 million.)
