12 Nov 2018 157
Unusual name cast into a supporting member under the passenger footbridge at Penge East Station. Made at the Medway Iron Works. Engineer Henry Spencelayh was said to have known Dickens. His son Charles became a famous artist, and was married in Penge, although the family lived in Rochester. The station was built in 1863. historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1186820
