The only illumination here is the nearly full moon. I had no idea whether infrared would work much at all by moonlight, but it seems that it does.

We had received about a foot of snow. The power was out. The phones were out. The Internet was out. The woodstove was my only friend. Then, late in the day, a ray of sunshine on the heavy, wet snow. It went on to get to -8F that night. Spent the night feeding wood to the stove!

Wanted to see if I could get a hand-held picture of the moonlight on the snow without any tricks, using the X-Pro1 and the 18-55mm zoom. Not awful, I think. OOC JPEG.

I thought I'd see if the X-E2 body would make an appreciably different image. I think there is a difference, though the exposure is the same, and I think I like the picture from the X-Pro1 -- the other one -- a little better.

A wide-angle pointed up, as in the previous picture, does odd things to straight lines on the sides. I wanted the moon in the picture -- should have shot it vertically!
