Tuesday 9 May 1995 (approx. 0805) - Premier Travel Services was a regular purchaser of former Wallace Arnold Tours coaches and in this view taken at the top of College Heath Road, Mildenhall we see two such acquisitions operating on the U.S. Air Force contracts from RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall to Heathrow and Gatwick – despite their liveries! Leading is 438 (J706 CWT), a Plaxton Premiere bodied Volvo B10M new in April 1992, sporting Eurolines livery being followed by 425 (G525 LWU), a Plaxton Paramount boided Volvo B10M new in March 1990, in National Express livery.

Sunday 20 August 1995 – On 1 August 1995 National Express rebranded the Cambridge to London service 011 as one of their ‘Express Shuttle’ services. These services generally saw increased frequencies and took away the requirement to pre-book seats.
A new batch of Plaxton Expressliner bodied Volvo B10M coaches was added to the fleet of Premier Travel Services which were specifically lettered for the service. 445 (N445 XVA) was seen loading for London at Drummer Street, Cambridge.
This coach featured in a BBC television comedy drama produced in 1996 entitled 'Eskimo Day' written by Jack Rosental but on screen it carried two false registration numbers (N734 AJN and N428 RWN).

Saturday 1 March 1997 – Stagecoach Group (either Premier Travel Services or Cambus) Plaxton bodied Volvo B10M coaches at the Cowley Road, Cambridge premises. Left is 439 (J739 CWT), a Plaxton Premiere 350 that had been new to Wallace Arnold Tours in March 1992. Right is 447 (N447 XVA), a Plaxton Expressliner new in August 1995 to Premier Travel Services which was owned by Cambus Holdings at the time. Cambus Holdings sold out to Stagecoach in December 1995. I can’t say what name the coach went under at the time of the photograph. It was about to leave for Drummer Street in order to work the 1145 service 314 to Birmingham. In between the two coaches is Northern Counties bodied Volvo Olympian 530 (P530 EFL).

Saturday 11 April 1998 (Easter weekend) – National Express contractors on ‘Express Shuttle’ services were naming their coaches after towns in their native area prefixed with ‘Spirit of …….’ This Plaxton Expressliner bodied Volvo B10M carried the name ‘Spirit of March’ and had been new in August 1995 to Premier Travel Services when PTS was owned by Cambus Holdings. In December that year Cambus Holdings sold out to the Stagecoach Group. 452 (N452 XVA) was seen at Drummer Street, Cambridge although I can’t say what the operator’s legal name was…. Cambus or Premier Travel Services?
