Saturday 4 September 1999 - JMT (1987) Limited, which ran the ‘Jersey bus’ bus service network on the Channel Island of Jersey, also owned the Tantivy Motors business. Two Duple Dominant bodied Bedford SB3s are seen here in St. Helier. 48 (J 64338) was new in 1981 and 65 (J 62568) was new in August 1979. In November 1996 the business of Blue Coach Tours was acquired by JMT and merged with Tantivy to form Tantivy Blue Coach Tours Limited. A 2019 update to this photograph. This parking area has now been redeveloped and is home to a number of low rise office buildings occupied by different financial companies. In the background is the reclaimed land on which there is now a cinema/leisure complex, numerous apartment blocks and a marina.

Duple Dominant bodied Bedford SB3 57 (J 20051) seen in St. Helier was new in 1980. In November 1996 the business of Blue Coach Tours was acquired by JMT and merged with Tantivy to form Tantivy Blue Coach Tours Limited. A 2019 update to this photograph. This parking area has now been redeveloped and is home to a number of low rise office buildings occupied by different financial companies. Castle Street is to the right of the photograph. The direction sign points to the harbour/ferry terminal. The roundabout now includes an underpass. Quite a large area beyond the roundabout has been infilled and features numerous apartment blocks, a leisure complex and marina.

Saturday 4 September 1999 – The Duple Dominant bodied Bedford SB5 was operated by most tour companies on the Channel Island of Jersey. Tantivy Blue Coach Tours 42 (J 26678) and 43 (J 26724) are seen parked with a number of other coaches in St. Helier – both were new in 1984 to Blue Coach Tours. Blue Coach Tours was taken over by JMT (1987) Limited, which ran the ‘Jersey bus’ bus service network on the island, in November 1996. JMT also owned the Tantivy Motors business and the two were merged to create Tantivy Blue Coach Tours. A 2019 update to this photograph. The parking area has now been redeveloped and is home to a number of low rise office buildings occupied by different financial companies. The wall on the right remains as it is a listed building beyond which is now the Liberty Wharf Shopping Centre. The building in the distance stands close to the corner of Castle Street and Esplanade.

Saturday 4 September 1999 - Tantivy Blue Coach Tours 28 (J 61644), a Caetano Aveiro bodied Bedford SB5 new in 1987 to Holiday Tours of St. Helier, seen about to enter the Fort Regent Tunnel from the western (harbour) direction. The Bedford SB chassis was launched at the 1950 Commercial Motor Show in London as the replacement for the famous Bedford OB and production spanned 37 years.

Saturday 4 September 1999 – Mont Orgueil Castle in Gorey, Jersey, Channel Islands forms a backcloth to this photograph. From right to left the vehicles are: Tantivy Blue Coach Tours 8 (J 32575), a 1991 Elme Orion bodied Leyland Swift; Pioneer Coaches 5 (J 14609), a Wadham Stringer Vanguard bodied Leyland Swift new to Cromer British Legion in 1988 as F793 RBK; and Jerseybus 8 (J 46631), a Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart 9.8SDL new in 1994. This area is very close to where the railway tracks were at Gorey Pier Station. The railway closed here in 1929.

Leading is coach number 3 (J 39815), a Wadham Stringer bodied Iveco 95E18F new in 1994, followed by 107, a Renault Master with Deansgate bodywork conversion new in 1993. Blue Coach Tours was taken over by JMT (1987) Limited, which ran the ‘Jersey bus’ bus service network on the island in November 1996. JMT also owned the Tantivy Motors business and the two were merged to create Tantivy Blue Coach Tours. Both these vehicles originated with Blue Coach Tours. Note the Silver Springs Volkswagen mini-bus on the left which carries a very low Jersey registration plate, J 66.

Number 1 is a Portuguese built Camo Minerva bodied Renault PP180 new in 1996 and number 139 is a Volkswagen Transporter with a bodywork conversion by Devon Conversions new in 1989. Blue Coach Tours was taken over by JMT (1987) Limited, which ran the ‘Jersey bus’ bus service network on the island in November 1996. JMT also owned the Tantivy Motors business and the two were merged to create Tantivy Blue Coach Tours. Both these vehicles originated with Blue Coach Tours.
