Friday 16 July 2010 (0723) – Fallen trees, due to strong winds, caused some disruption to Suffolk County Council contracted service 356 on Thursday 15 July with one tree blocking the A1101 near Mildenhall College of Technology for a time. A heavy branch of a much larger tree blocked the road outside Park Farm in the main street of Cavenham resulting in the 356 service being diverted from late morning until the end of the day. Mulleys Motorways H951 PTW, running empty to Worlington to work the parallel school service 956, made a call at Cavenham on a proving run to establish if today’s services would face any further disruption. The remains of the branch frame former Dublin Bus RH35, an Alexander (Belfast) bodied Volvo Olympian, which can be seen on either side of the road. During the mid-afternoon another branch fell in Risby resulting in this bus having to turn back near Hanbury Paddocks when it was operating the afternoon 956 home from Bury St Edmunds. The 1535 service 356 from Mildenhall and 1710 from Bury (operated by Mulleys) and the 1620 from Bury which returns as the 1705 from Mildenhall (operated by Coach Services Ltd) all had to be diverted. However, that tree was removed in time for the 1750 from Mildenhall (operated by Mulleys) and the 1810 Bury St Edmunds-Risby service (operated by Galloway) getting through just as the road re-opened.
