DAY 8 THUR 4 OCT 2012 The Holiday Inn Canyon De Chelly (Chinle) Sitting right outside the Holiday Inn, where we were staying. It's not often you get to see such a fine (let alone intact!) example of a historical remnant of the past like this (except in the movies). If only those wagon wheels could talk! What a story they could tell. Chinle itself, is a dreary outpost of trailer and pre-fab homes, wandering dogs, and an unemployment rate four times greater than in the rest of Arizona.
