A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of boots (high button boots, rain boots, farm boots, etc.) .
"Season's Greetings, 1949. From Our House to Your House."
A young girl, who's decked out in winter clothes and boots, poses with Santa Claus (or a reasonable facsimile), who's also wearing boots.
The girl posed with Santa again in 1950 for another photographic Christmas card. See Season's Greetings, 1950 .
Women and Kids in Front of a House
11 Jul 2019 |
|
|
A real photo postcard of two women and five children posing for a picture along a dirt road. One of the kids is holding a stick or branch, and the youngest is holding an oversized hat (see an enlargement for a better view of the group). A brick house surrounded by trees is in the background. The AZO stamp box on the other side (four corner triangles pointing up) suggests a date as early as 1904 to 1918.

Nobody Can April-Fool Me

|
|
"Nobody can April-Fool me. I am a fool. Bernhardt Wall. Copyright 1909 The Ullman Mfg. Co. N.Y."
Printed on the other side of this postcard: "American Post Card. 'April Fool' Series No. 156. Subject No. 2490."
This foolish fellow didn't fall victim to the Brick in a Hat trick, but he is wearing a "I am a fool" sign.
For a similar April Fools' Day postcard, see They Can't April-Fool Us, Eh?

Accordion Kids

A snapshot of three kids, two with accordions and one with a trumpet. Looks like the smiling boys in front are enjoying themselves, but I'm not sure whether the girl in back is having any fun.
Notice the toy cannon that's situated near the edge of the porch on the left and the interesting design of the curtain or whatever it is that's hanging on the inside of the window on the right.
See also a close-up of the kids .

A Study in Handbags
19 Aug 2013 |
|
|
Handwritten note on the back of this real photo postcard: "A study in hand bags."
I thought at first that this might be Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland, but I haven't been able to confirm it. Unfortunately, I can't make out any of the inscription on the plaque that's bolted to the side of the brickwork. Does anyone recognize the location? Can anyone identify the type of fortification structure or the kinds of artillery?

Handwritten note on the back of this small cyanotype photo: "Sonny carved this head out of a piece of stone up [in] the garden with an old chisel."
Wretched Typo the Printer
09 Feb 2015 |
|
|
An insulting " vinegar valentine " aimed at printers.
Printer
Lead-colored claws, tobacco-stained jaws,
Wretched Typo, you cram up your stick,
Drunk today to your sorrow, half sober tomorrow,
And then swear you're a regular "brick."
Your foreman condemns how you count up your "ems,"
How you "sub" it at half-price he likes,
But the editor only, at his desk groaning lonely,
Damns you and your interminable "strikes."
For another example of a vinegar valentine, see You Teach Each Little Elf More Than You Know Yourself .

A beards photo for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.
Handwritten note on the back of this real photo postcard: "Uncle Jim in the Old Timers Parade."
I don't know where or when this "Old Timers Parade" took place, and I'm not even sure which one is "Uncle Jim." I'm certain, though, that it must have taken quite some time for these fellows to put on grow those long beards and moustaches!

|
An example of color photos or slides for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.
A Boy Scout gives a three-finger salute while wearing his uniform as he poses for a photo in a living room with distinctive furniture and decor dating to the 1960s. The same sofa and wall decorations appear in a pre-prom photo , and the same boy appears with his sister in a Christmas photo .
