vigilance 3

Another view of (I assume) a mother goose watching over two of her three goslings. (The third one liked to wander out of the frame.) The geese that live in Wascana Lake are used to having humans around. This one has been banded; a task I'd not want to take on.

I assume this was the mother of the goslings, which tend to roam around and need constant watching, and the occasional talking-to.

The Canada geese that inhabit Wascana Park are used to having people around, but they let you know how close is enough. While the geese are raising their goslings they are especially insistent that people keep their distance. I assume this was the mother goose, and she was aware that I was nearby.

A Canada Goose watching over a couple of goslings in early June, in Wascana Park, by the shore of the lake with the same name. The geese are habituated to the man-made structures in the park.

A watchful parent keeping tabs on the three goslings. One of the goslings liked to wander off, so this was the one image where I was able to capture all three in one frame.

The Canada Geese in Wascana Park are habituated to a lot of human activity going on around them, but they do maintain a watchful eye over their goslings.
