"...And today the search continues in the laboratory and in the far-flung corners of the earth for the finest raw products, in order that the Company may constantly maintain its reputation for quality and its traditional policy of keeping faith with consumers..."
Thus Spake Schilling. I've never before felt so heroic tossing a cinnamon stick into the applesauce pot.

Re-posted to give a more accurate size. Otherwise you can't appreciate the glorious anarchy of all this greenstuff. Look at it-- rolling everywhere, without an atom of mayo or gelatine to be seen for miles! [fans self]

We really are in San Francisco, aren't we? Look at that nifty electric orange cut-out around the big garlic stalk-whatsit. Dig the floaty flowers! Clearly the Summer of Love is closer than we think...

Sweet little illustrations. They resemble the kind that Peter Pauper Press would be using in its mini-cookbooks just a few years later.

This booklet got a lot of love. Before I smoothed it out in Photoshop, there were folds, notes, food spills, the works. That's probably a sign that at least some of the recipes were worth it. Well done, Crown Colony. Well done.
Front and back covers, plus the first two pages of a booklet published by Charter Products Company, San Francisco, California.

Cherries and bananas: always the bane of American manhood. Don't forget.
Other recipes included: Stuffed Tomato Salads, Salmon Salad, Spiced Tomato Aspic, Seafood Salad, Sour Cream Dressing, Sparkle Summer Salad, Thanksgiving Fruit Salad, Tropical Salad, Tartar Sauce, Tomato Salad Ring, Turkey and Chestnut, Waldorf Salad, and XYZ-Chicken Liver.
No, really. You serve it on lettuce, so it's salad, okay?
