The "Duomo Vecchio" (aka "Concattedrale invernale di Santa Maria Assunta", "La Rotonda") is a large circular structure erected on the site of a prior basilica in the first half of the 11th century.
This basilica ("Santa Maria Maggiore") was built within the 6th century. When the relics of Saint Filastrio (aka "Saint Philastrius"), the 6th bishop of Brescia and a preacher against the Arians, were transferred to Brescia in 838, this large crypt was built under that basilica.
This crypt was built using materials from Roman ruins, so none of the pillars here match. Some of the pillars developed cracks - and so got reinforced by a metal ring.

This basilica ("Santa Maria Maggiore") was built within the 6th century. When the relics of Saint Filastrio (aka "Saint Philastrius"), the 6th bishop of Brescia and a preacher against the Arians, were transferred to Brescia in 838, a large, still existing crypt was built under that basilica.
The inner diameter of "La Rotonda" is 19,80m.
The ambulatory around is 5,50m wide.
The presbytery was erected over the old crypt. It was completed in the late 15th century. Some glass windows are in the floor of the transept, as there are still parts of the former basilica Santa Maria Maggiore.
Here is a mosaic, depicting a flock of sheept, hat is probably 6th/7th. century.
Following the information given, the message is:
Syrus diac(onus) h(unc) l(ocum) t(essellavit) c(um) s(uis)
What translates to "Deacon Syrus and his family donated this place/mosaic"

The right arch opens to the central apse. Some glass windows are in the floor of the transept, as there are still parts of the former basilica Santa Maria Maggiore.

I have no idea, what is depicted here. Four dancing snakes? A pan flute? A walking cane?

Behind the altar (right) stairs lead up to the presbytery and down to the crypt.

At that time the street level lower so today the Duomo Vecchio looks like sunken into the Piazza del Duomo. In 1571 a new entrance was created, but the Baroque portal, seen here, had to be rebuilt after the campanile over it had collapsed in 1703.

Seen here are actually two cathedrals.
In the foreground is the "Duomo Vecchio" (aka "La Rotonda"), a large circular structure erected on the site of a prior basilica in the first half of the 11th century.
Behind "La Rotonda" is the "Duomo Nuovo". The construction began in 1604. Commission was given to Andrea Palladio. The plague (1630) stopped the work, later financial difficulties slowed it down. The "Duomo Nuovo" was finally completed in 1825, when the dome, designed by Luigi Cagnola, was brought to completion. The dome is 91m high.
