Uta - Lizard

Taking a rest in the shadow this lizard came over and tried to talk me into a little game. He whispered "Catch me if you can..". I knew, that the little critter was faster than lightning, so I did not enter the game.

Uta - Santa Maria

"Santa Maria" in Uta is (just like "Santa Maria di Sibiola") attributed to French monks/workers from the Abbey of St. Victor in Marseille. Erected in "Provençal" style within the 12th century it does has influences of the more common "Pisan" style. T that time the area was under Pisan rule. Probably later, when the Spanish had taken over the bell-gable was added. In 1363, when Peter IV of Aragon (aka "Pere el Cerimoniós") was as well King of Sardinia and Corsica, he transferred the owenership of the church from the Knights Hospitaller to the Order of Sant Jordi d'Alfama (south of Tarragona). Some of the many corbels are so mint, that they may be the result of a recent renovation. These two are probably about 800 years old - and the bald gentleman has a sunburn since the very beginning.

Unfortunately "Santa Maria" is fenced in, so I could not any closer.
