There are at least three butterflies, plus some bees and other insects on this bush (possibly not visible in this image).

Probably the biggest example of a "small tortishell" butterfly seen in 2015. Although I didn't get an image of it, there was one about half the size fluttering about.

One of the few Small Tortishell butterflies (Aglais urticae) seen in 2015, feeding on bramble flowers (Rubus fruticosus) .
