By early evening [18:26] on the 25th November 2024, the floodwater in Chippenham High Street were beginning to retreat. The building on the right used to be the Co-op. It is a skyline feature in the landscape. The very length is impressive. Walking up from the road, the shape of the hill removes the barrow from view, until you get a lot closer.

The "old" Water Tower at Malmesbury. Currently supports a range of communication antenna. Reinforced concrete and xxx feet high, built in nnnn. [looking for the correct information]

This one is known as "Horse Head Rock" - don't look too hard, or maybe the thumbnail will show "it" more clearly.

Cut in 1999, to celebrate the third Millennium, above the hamlet of Roundway. It does face to the right, the only Wiltshire White Horse to do so. It is very close to the original Snobs Horse (traces of which only rarely visible) and at least the head / neck are based on the older horse. The Eastern wing of the old Grammar School building in Chippenham. I remember these very well (notes will give the subject / rooms I recall from the mid-1970s - see also the 1990 aerial image).

The Grammar School line-up in 1950. This is now Hardenhuish School.

No visible remains; but investigations have shown a mixture of post-holes and sockets for standing stones. (red = wooden post holes & blue = stone socket) Next to the line of The Ridgeway, not far from West Kennet Long Barrow, and part of the same pre-historic landscape.
