It is a skyline feature in the landscape. The very length is impressive. Walking up from the road, the shape of the hill removes the barrow from view, until you get a lot closer.

Cut in 1999, to celebrate the third Millennium, above the hamlet of Roundway. It does face to the right, the only Wiltshire White Horse to do so. It is very close to the original Snobs Horse (traces of which only rarely visible) and at least the head / neck are based on the older horse. No visible remains; but investigations have shown a mixture of post-holes and sockets for standing stones. (red = wooden post holes & blue = stone socket) Next to the line of The Ridgeway, not far from West Kennet Long Barrow, and part of the same pre-historic landscape.
