Spotted just off the A689 [Alston to Brampton] on our way to Hickins' for some food. The fence is also providing somewhere to hang the hay ! The hay patch on the ground has two sets of lambs and one ewe, the other mum is the one much closer to the camera. First lambs I've seen in 2024.

Yes, spring lambs are well-named ! Luckily, the dry stone walls around here [SW Northumberland] are quite good at keeping lambs inside the fields.
