now painted in USN colours - March Field Museum, CA. 18/10/09. Originally delivered in 1945 to the USAAF as 42-72636 it was immediately transferred to the US Navy as 56514. Its believed to have taken part in both the Berlin Airlift and the Korean War. It was retired from military service in 1965 and stored for almost ten years at Davis Monthan. It was registered N67062 in 1975 and later served with Central Air Services as an airtanker (Tanker # 148) until it was wfu in 1994. Acquired by March Field Museum it arrived there on 19th January 2002 on its final flight from Tucson still in tanker colours.
