The Severn Valley Railway with Ivatt 2 2-6-0 46443 and Hunslet WD 0-6-0ST 193 Shropshire simmering away in the engine shed yard at Bridgnorth.
Fifty years ago the station was very quiet and no-one was enjoying a rest on that even older, probably Victorian wooden railway bench.

he morning sun catches GWR pannier tank 0-6-0PT 7714 and Ivatt 4MT 2-6-0 43106 as they back off Bridgnorth shed shrouded by steam. They would then double-head the 08.00 local train to Kidderminster, the first train of the day.

A shot from the passenger footbridge at Highley station as Great Western Railway 28XX 2-8-0 2857 arrives with a train for Bridgnorth. Hawksworth 0-6-0PT 1501 waits in the middle road with the stock of the next shuttle working to Kidderminster.

Shrouded in steam the signalman & the fireman from British Railways Standard 4 4-6-0 75069 exchange single-line staffs. The fireman is giving up the one from Hampton Loade while the signalman is handing over the staff to the next crossing point at Arley to the south.

GWR 0-6-0PT 5764 was bought from BR by London Transport in 1960 & became their L95. It was purchased by the SVR in 1971 after the end of steam on LT.
