Dare_Jun53

14 Dec 2009 138
This June 1953 issue of Dare featured a history of love - in eight pages, no less - from bestial love (not what you think!) to Greek love, from the lascivious love and Roman free-for-alls to the more civilized chivalrous love. Romantic love supposedly grew out of the Renaissance, and passionate love, or modern love, is again concerned with the physical side, much like primitive man. Arbitrary, sure, but also interesting enough fodder for a quick reader! Pocket-sized magazines like this one measured less than six inches tall and contained a smattering of pin-ups, news, sports, and gossip.

Pocket-sized magazines like this one measured less than six inches tall and contained a smattering of pin-ups, news, sports, and gossip.
