In a beautiful valley at the base of the Andes, just east of Lago Maihue and Lago Ranco, a Dutch immigrant dairy farmer lived with his family. I stayed on the farm for a few days on several occasions. Richard Bartlesman van Elikenhuisen had a name that most Chileans could not pronounce but he was highly respected and known in nearby Valdivia. Equestrian polo lacrosse is an unusual slant on this sport practiced by my Greys Scouts Rhodesian friends long ago in a now defunct nation. This image came from a 35mm negative shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC camera, scanned by an HP Scanjet 5470c and restored using multiple Photoshop operations.
