One of the many beautiful spring plants that have recently been planted in the Butterfly House at the Calgary Zoo. There are several different coloured Primulas, which makes for a very cheery display. I needed this bright colour today. I chickened out of a walk this morning when I saw on TV that it was -21C outside (-29C with wind chill)! I knew that I wouldn't be able to take photos in that extreme cold, so decided to stay home in the warmth. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow.

When I called in at the Calgary Zoo this afternoon, I discovered that all the Poinsettias in the Butterfy House had been replaced with spring flowers. What an amazing display they have created to cheer us up during the winter days. This photo shows just one small area, but there are other types of flowers there, too.

You would think that I'd choose a Primula in brilliant pink or some other warm colour. Instead, what do I do? I end up buying a cold, white one! As if there isn't enough "white" everywhere, lol. Love the pretty centres of these flowers.

The staff who work in the Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo have done an excellent job of planting a most impressive display of spring flowers, in the Butterfly House. On a cold, winter day, the sight of these colourful flowers is a joy!
