DPP #8699, Tatra T6A5 tram at Ujezd, Prague, CZ, 2…

I took this in the summer of 2005, in July, I think (I don't remember exactly), and it has always been one of my favorites. I like the compostion (more or less perfect for a train or tram shot), and the way the sunlight catches the tram just right. You also get to see the wye where Vitezna meets Ujezd.

When I took this, I was shooting solely because I liked the light and the composition. I knew that it wasn't going to be a perfect shot of a Tatra T6A5 tram. Still, it isn't too bad for that, either. It's just missing the ends. This was taken on the corner of Ujezd and Vitezna, at the Ujezd tram stop.
Lanova Draha (Funicular Railway), Prague, CZ, 2005

The Lanova Draha, or Funicular Railway, in Prague is one of the wonders of the city, and its ridership has always consisted mostly of tourists. Nevertheless, it's a green and easy way to get from Ujezd to Petrin without climbing the hill. Great for lazy...well...tourists. :-) It's also great for railway enthusiasts. It looks new, of course, but this is because it was thoroughly rebuilt in the 1980s, and so the track, tram cars (trains?), and stations are all new, with the notable exception of the Ujezd station, which is original. The original Ujezd station, and the original Lanova Draha, were built in 1891 for the same exposition that the Petrin watchtower was built for. It has since been rebuilt several times, and actually this latest restoration, surprisingly before the end of Communism, is one of the most successful, as the various rebuilds have been required by the whole system's falling apart again and again.

This was my first attempt at using the rapid-fire ability of the Lomo 135BC, although actually I didn't plan it this way. I just clicked away two shots quickly without thinking about it, and then realised what I was doing as I shot the third. I then decided that I had to upload this as soon as possible to please all the people who wanted to see the results of what the Lomo 135BC can do.

This is one of my only successful photos taken inside the funicular railway station at Ujezd. I got it using my Lomo 135BC, but with the help of my Gossen Polysix light meter, since the Lomo doesn't have any specified settings for indoor shooting.
