Rock under the water in Upa, Pec pod Snezkou, Kral…

03 Feb 2024 62
There wasn't any bouy or other indication that this rock was just under the water. I'm assuming it was left there because it wasn't considered important, as Upa is relatively small, and doesn't have any high-speed boats or diving boards to create a major hazard.

I had never heard of Nine Eleven before, but they're hardcore band from France. Their set was the craziest that I've ever been to at Cafe na pul cesty, so I expected to be sore the next day. In reality, that didn't happen, but I unfortunately didn't get too many pictures because of all the movement.

I ended up standing right in the front of the crowd for the Smashrooms set. I had met them two years earlier at Klub 007.

Actually, the guitarist for Sending Lights is the bass player for Foxxen.

Here's shot of them tuning up.

Sending Lights weren't originally scheduled to play on this particular night, and neither were the following band, Foxxen, who share the guitarist in the foreground (sorry if I've forgotten your name). Originally, The Smashrooms and Nine Eleven were supposed to play, but the night became a quadruple bill.

This photo is hopelessly blurred, but it captures the mood of the show.

This was one of the better shots that I got of Landverraad that night. The show was great, and one of the wilder ones I've been to, but I didn't have the best luck with photography.

Here's an alternate shot of Gattaca. I took most of these during the sound check, before the lights were lowered.

This was part of a triple bill that included Cacory, Gattaca, and Landverraad. This was Gattaca.

Shell And Rocks On The Beach, Rio, Peloponnese, Gr…

There are also a lot of details, both natural and otherwise, on the Rio beach, so sometimes just pointing your camera at the ground can give you something. I decided to compose this shot around that shellfish in the middle.

Dragon in Lanskroun, Bohemia (CZ), 2009

Lanskroun's most famous rock band, nationally known in the Czech Republic, is probably Dragon, with members seen here (from left to right) Jindra Helekal, Radim Kuka, and Jirka Hurych (if I've got these names wrong please correct me). Some of my friends know Jirka, and he seems to know who I am, so this show was just as much a reason to go to Lanskroun as the bonfire, and perhaps more so.

Here's the second decent shot I took of Dragon, although I took a lot of others, actually.

Batalion, Dvacateho Osmeho Rijna, Prague, CZ, 2008

Hidden behind the Gambrinus sign it says "hard rock cafe," although I don't know if this is a legitimate "Hard Rock Cafe," or if it's just a name and/or ripoff. I've never been in this place, even though I've been by it countless times.
