El Pardo is the large park (former royal hunting territory) to the northwest of Madrid.

Madrid in the far distance. (35 km away) Best on large / full screen.

So, I moved from near there to near here! My sister's photo.

Sierra de La Cabrera. The Four Towers, Madrid can be seen as a stub on the horizon. (and because I taught at the top of all of them, I also recognise La Torre Europa and La Tore Picasso in this shot).

Torre Cristal, designed by Argentinian architect César Pelli, of Petronas Towers, Kualar Lumpar and 1, Canada Square, Canary Wharf, Docklands, London fame (who died aged 92 a couple of days ago), viewed from the neighbouring Torre PwC (reflected in Torre Cristal). Cuatro Torres (Four Towers), Madrid. Snow-capped Sierra de Guadarrama on the horizon.

Sadly they painted over last year's street art and it has been replaced by lesser material. I guess the earlier lot, which i captured at some length, was contracted only for a year and professional street artists were engaged. I suspect their replacements were local artists, better than average but not the same at all. All this is pure conjeture.

More street art from the car park at Chamartin Station, Madrid

This shot of the Torres Cuatro and the recent street art at Chamartin Station was taken immediately after the completion of the artwork withing the allotted time frame. Some of the artwork was left unfinished. The scaffolding frames which allowed them to do the work is still here. It had gone two days later. I guess the Council loaned them the scaffolding over one weekend only so that it didn't interfere with normal council work!

The whole area between here and these 4 towers has been an 'on and off - mainly off - project' for many years to build many more such towers - I read 5 more, then 13 more and then 137 more (OK I exaggerate here!). I think envy of La Defense in Paris runs deep. They can't make up their minds. I think the street art might stay here for years!

The Four Towers, Madrid. Another class at the top of one of these. Always at the top because I mainly teach CEOs and other senior execs and they like to have expansive views. Unfortunately photos are forbidden on security grounds. Eh?? (I was luckier a few years ago when a couple of enlighten top bods let me take a few shots, previously uploaded on Pano and one or two here on ip).
