Another day on our Yorkshire Dales week at Leyburn brings us to the village of Reeth. A charming enough village in itself but surrounded by wonderful rolling hills full of old barns, dry-stone walls and sheep. Here is just one of the many small scenes that took my fancy. Enjoy the week.

We are near the village of Reeth here at the end of a splendid round walk. These barns are almost a trade-mark of the area and this one shows the state of many which are at the end of their life. Enjoy full screen

A barn that I suspect is photographed a lot. We are here on the Dales Way near Hubberholme again and this is but one of many barns around here. Best full screen

Back from a week at Leyburn in North west Yorkshire we see here a scene from near The Shawl at Leyburn. A sign of things to come as this is barn and drystone wall country. A complete change for us is walking in summer outfits as it is hot and bright. Enjoy full screen.

On the hillside path to Starbottom from the village of Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales, there are many walls and barns to be seen. On this day we were fortunate with the pronounced strong light coming just over the opposite steep valley side. On a previous walk along the valley bottom we saw an owl in one of these barns. Enjoy full size.

As the sun starts to drop this old barn is bedecked by shadows and I feel a distinct insect crawling on my neck as I slowly breath in and push the shutter button. Enjoy
