A glorious morning today, without a cloud in the sky. This is a reflection of trees in the Chirk canal. The PiP is a reflection of the sign which reads Croeso i Cymru - Welcome to Wales

Today's Sunday Challenge is: MUSHROOMS/FUNGI
We had a very wet, mild and windy December 2021, and many trees and branches were blown down. January 2022 is having a late fungal fest, The main photo was taken this week at Attingham Park. Of the two PiPs, they were both taken the previous week, one at Attingham and the other in Ruyton. The yellow fungus is Tremella mesenterica, the Yellow Brain Fungus, and is mainly seen in winter, when it appears on fallen branches of deciduous trees.

Today's challenge: Negative or inverted photography. This entails reversing the colours of your image. I usually find inversion photos to be so unreal with horrible colours. The best choice of subject for me is something that is fairly abstract to begin with. I chose an ice puddle.

PiP 2 shows Owen's original jottings for the poem. Owen did not glamorize war and, in my opinion, was one of the best WW1 poets. Benjamin Britten's War Requiem contains quite a few of Owen's poems, and the music can be brutal to the ear.

Saturday Self Challenge: Find something red, shoot it, but then change the image into black and white.
This was an interesting challenge. I wanted to take a photo of something that the majority of folks would accept as red without having to show the original photo. Here are my attempts:

Three of the slab-work pots were made by myself under the tuition of Tove Sieierstad Wiik. One of the pots was made by our youngest grandson, and the table mats were crocheted by my aunt who was born in the late 18th century. I have a favourite piece. ;-)
The PiPs show Tove at her potters wheel and some of her work displayed in her studio.

The Saturday Self Challenge: 'Things we love about Christmas.'
I love decorating our Christmas tree while listening to music. The lights and the baubles etc. brighten up the short days at this time.
My favourite Christmas music this year is O come, O come, Emmanuel - (Piano/Cello) - The Piano Guys
Another favourite is Carol of the Bells - Amazing Piano Solo - David Hicken

The SSC this week is Jewellery. I rarely wear any jewellery, but always wear a pendant of sorts on a silver chain, and occasionally ring the changes. My favourite pendant, a small cube of silver inset with 2 small pearls, is round my neck as I write. I'll probably change the scene around Christmas time and wear one of these instead for a week or so.

TSC. THE SYMBOLS OF EASTER.
We're looking for eggs, rabbits/hares, Easter bonnets, hot cross buns, fish, palms etc..
Painting a small brown egg using water colours proved to be quite difficult. It started of as daffodils and a chick, which was unsuccessful. After various colour changes it ended up as dribbles of blue and white paint. The finished egg was put back into a saucepan of water where it floated, then the paint started to float away. Eat your heart out Fabergé. ;-)
Eggs were a traditional symbol of fertility and rebirth. The oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs wrapped in colourful foil, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as chocolate.
A Puddock sat by the Lochan's brim. (PiP)

A 'Puddock' is a frog.
A 'Lochan' is a small pond or lake.
Around this pond were wood carvings, one of a toadstool (just seen in the background), one of a frog, and another of an owl. I haven't been able to find out who the wood carver is - yet.
