Der Cobia (Rachycentron canadum) oder Offiziersbarsch ist eine Art der echten Barsche (Percoidei). Er ist die einzige Art seiner Gattung, die auch allein in der Familie Cobias steht. Die Fische haben einen langgestreckten Körper und flachen Kopf. Vor der Rückenflosse stehen sechs bis neun kurze, freistehende Flossenstrahlen.
Der Cobia lebt pelagisch im Freiwasser in tropischen und subtropischen Bereichen des Atlantik und Indopazifik. Der bis 1,80 Meter lange und 70 kg schwere Raubfisch ist ein beliebter Anglerfisch und ganzjährig als sehr leckerer Speisefisch verfügbar. Leider lieben ihn die Mantas weniger, weil sie als Mitschwimmer lästig sind.
Im internationalen Handel wird er auch unter folgenden Namen angeboten: Offiziersbarsch, Ling, Cubby Yew, Black Salmon, Runner, Lemonfish, Black Kingfish, Kingfish, Prodigal Son, Crabeater, Sergeant Fish.
