Icking #8

Until the fifties, Icking had no street names and counted the houses by numbers. Ours, built in 1896 by a schoolteacher, used to be nr. 8.
Before, there had only been a few farms, a church, and an inn.

View through the open door. I remain as anonymous as on the companion piece, if for another reason.

AlphaSmart in Bavaria 1
View through one of our garden house’s windows (yes, it needs cleaning).
The AlphaSmart is the 3000 US model, for ol’ times’ sake. It was awarded to me for my participation in the long defunct AlphaSmart Community Center, an honor I share with quite a few members of the AlphaSmart Group on Flickr.
Our small garden house
It has electricity, it has heating, an area where you can sit and drink your beer, play chess and discuss politics...
Though it’s a typical DIY superstore model and very common in this part of the world, it’s nonetheless a cosy place for writing and studying. It really should be used more often...
BTW, the cart wheels aren’t of our doing, nor is the rustic interior (with beer steins, a calender containing insults in Bavarian dialect etc. etc.).
After midnight
After I had made a shot of our garage (for reasons that don’t matter here), I turned my camera to the back of our house. I don’t know what you think, but I think it looks pretty neat.

Part of our garden is surrounded by shrubs and trees, very private. On one side, there is some kind of bower. It’s nice to sit there on hot summer evenings, and even bad weather won’t hurt anybody:
The decoration was already there when we first came; it could impossibly be of our doing, but on the other hand, we have little inclination to change or remove it.
