Me in Augsburg waiting for a cappucino

Family...

... or the consenting part of it. So there’s some of me, some of Cora. Dachshund Robbie deserves an album of his own.

Cora again

Engaged in conversation and venting her unqualified opinions, thus giving the Quiet One (me) the opportunity of focusing and pressing the button.

Cora playing Scarlett Johansson

After our stroll along the beach (and after a hot chocolate and apple pie). We feel much better now, but are also very much aware of a camera pointed at us...

Waiting in Trier

For taking pictures, some photographers may rely on inspiration –I rely on boredom.

Is this funny?

My family thinks it is, but I disagree.

Waiting in Ferrara

One of those typical scenes... Robbie’s line firmly wound around my thigh (just in case he’ll detect an enemy earlier than I do). A nap of water (have I told you it was VERY HOT in Ferrara?). Waiting. In this case, we were waiting under the bell tower of Ferrara Cathedral. If I don’t look particularly happy, it must have been because something was missing... A cigar? Ah, wait a minute...

Ferrara was hot

Not so hot perhaps as Evansville, Indiana, but 35º C/95º F is more than any ol’ hyperborean can bear (without sweating). The hotel, nice enough otherwise, had no airconditioning –perhaps we should have stayed in our car.

One Summer Evening

Mainly candle light, ISO 1600, digitally pushed. No wonder there’s so much grain. Perhaps the picture would have been less grainy if I’d have used the RAW file, but I still have fond memories of Kodak Tri-X film, and like the way grain makes even bland shots look interesting and artistic...

Augsburg 2

1994, again, just an hour or so after the other picture. Cora is sitting amidst the remains of an Early Christian church. No wonder she’s in a meditative mood. Or perhaps she’s still bothered by the sticky fingers she got from the previous ice disaster.

Augsburg 1

Photo from 1994, taken with my Zenza Bronica GS-1 (which indeed also has a 6x6 back). Cora was three years old then, and took her time with her ice cone.
