Behind the House

Behind the House
My mother-in-law has a small platform behind her house where she can sit and watch the ships passing by. I took her place for a while.
At the time I took this picture, I hadn’t fully realized that the sun had already appeared from behind the clouds. I wasn’t as unhappy as I look, just a bit bored (the most valid reason for making selfies).

Sherry ~ Rebujito, have particularly liked this photo

Instead of "unhappy" I was rather going for "pissed" ;-), as in "Look, what you're doing to me - you make an outcast of me!" Well, "short of breath" is good enough a reason I suppose. Nice selfie nonetheless, pretty good lighting!

I’m a reasonably civilized person, and I respect it when people feel bothered by smoking (though I may not seek their company). What does piss me off is that I’m not allowed anymore to smoke in my own room at work: I’m too old now to be educated, and I really hate it when the education comes from my employer, who pays me, and thus believes to be entitled to arbitrariness.

Don’t think I’m addicted. Of course, I can do without cigars for a limited period of time, for instance, when I’m sleeping.

I understand your anger about the "late education" or rather: the idea of "owning people" for no other reason than paying them for their work (which is only fair). I know, I sound naive, but it seems I can never quite get used to these capitalist ideas of exploiting people's talents. So yeah - it's kind of overbearing to rule the smoking out without specific reason, when it was allowed.
No need for smoking when you sleep? Great accomplishment, I petrify in awe ;-)

It’s pretty much how I look naturally, when I don’t feel observed, and need not play the “nice guy” part (which wouldn‘t bring me an Oscar nomination anyhow). So I guess you’re right: the facial expression *is* iconically me (and if it wouldn’t be that it would be the right hand gesture).
