Arunachal Pradesh. North East India. This cultural practise of nose plugs and tattoos is now only found among older women in the Ziro area of this remote and difficult to access province. It has been banned and will be gone in a generation.

Hi Roger....yes..the younger ones want to be more western....and possibly to be able to breathe!
These are the things which will not exist in a generation from now...only as historical record.

Ces femmes n'ont pas une vie facile, ces bouchons me font mal pour elles. Mais ce sont leurs traditions.
Il me semble qu'elles se mettent ces bouchons pour ne plus être attirantes aux hommes ?
