The Cerro Torre is one of the most difficult climbing walls in the world.
An friend and best German mountain climber Reinhard Karl († 19. May 1982 at Cho Oyu, Nepal) managed to climb it in 1980.
Karl was the first German to reach the summit of Mount Everest (with oxygen) on May, 10 1978 - and he did not make much publicity about his success.
