Coastal walk #2

Coastal walk #2
It was great winter weather, so I joined some friends to take a walk in the nearby Murramarang National Park. It had all been burnt in the huge fires of late 2019/early 2020, as can be seen by the charred tree trunks, but it is recovering - some parts more than others.

Yes George, fire not only harms nature, but also helps. She recovers very quickly and sometimes better than it was before. I have already experienced this in the Canary Islands and am amazed at how nature deals with it...

Thanks, Udo. Yes, it's surprising how well some areas have picked up. It seems that one of the main deciders is how hot it was in various places. The very sad part is the loss of wildlife, particularly as many species are endangered.

I am pleased to see it recovering after the tragic fires. It must have been an enjoyable walk and I like these two pictures, especially the second, with a glimpse of the sea.

A marvelous pair of images, George. It must have been a wonderful walk with your friends on this day. Seeing through to the ocean is really neat too.

We have been camping in many places that were ravaged by wildfires recently or in years past. One of our favorites is LaPine and our top adventure is a 1.5 hr bike ride that takes us through the whole park, zooming along two different rivers and passing through forests and around trees...it's like an amusement park ride on a bike! :D Anyway, part of the forest was once burned in a wildfire, and as we fly past hooting in joy from the fun of the trip, I could not help but notice the burned trunks here and there. The forest seems largely recovered though, to our relief. It's such a shame when wildfires totally raze such pretty places. I'm glad that the area where you walked is coming back...it takes time.
